POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Emanuel (Mike) Manias, 79, of Poughkeepsie and previously of Catskill, died Nov. 26 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center.
Manias was born Sept. 15, 1936, to the late Georgios and Efrosini Manias. On Sept. 17, 1960, in Baltimore, Md., he married Constance Polis.
He was the executive chef at the Friar Tuck Inn in Catskill from 1969 before retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church in Poughkeepsie.
He is survived by his wife, Constance; a daughter; Fran Viney; a son, George Manias, five siblings residing in Greece; grandchildren Stephanie Purman, Jenna Viney, Jordan Manias, Jason Manias, Nicholas Graziano, and Vincent Graziano.
He was predeceased by his daughter; Maria Graziano.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc., 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie. There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 S. Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie, with Father Gregory officiating. Burial will be private in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Va.
